The usage of Speaking in Tongues in the future.
Mark 16:17
Speaking In Tongues by the Holy Spirit
For he that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not unto men,
but unto God..."
I Corinthians 14:2 (Revised Version)
Speaking in tongues is a powerful prayer resource that many Christians are missing out on. It greatly enhances our prayer life and relationship with God.
Look at three highly acclaimed men in the Bible who walked with amazing power and encouraged speaking in tongues:
Jesus Christ said it would happen, "…they shall speak with new tongues;" (Mark 16:17). and they did! It happened on the day of Pentecost. He prepared his followers on how to manifest it (John 7:38 & 39; 20:22; Acts 1:8). Logically if Jesus Christ is promoting speaking in tongues shouldn't we as born again ones speak in tongues?
Peter spoke in tongues along with his fellow disciples on the day of Pentecost. Peter led the very first Gentile into the new birth as well as helping them receive into manifestation speaking in tongues. "For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God" (Acts 10:46).
Paul, the writer of the Church Epistles and a leader of the first Century Church said this about speaking in tongues:
I Corinthians 14:18:
I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all.
I Corinthians 14:39b:
...and forbid not to speak with tongues.
Paul ministered to the new believers in Ephesus and led them into speaking in tongues (Acts 19:6).
These three men are the pillars of Christianity. Since they either promoted and/or spoke in tongues, then we as children of God should recognize their example and speak in tongues much. It should not be misunderstood or underused. We should recognize the magnificence of the value of speaking in tongues and do it much.
